The Pharmacist will be responsible for verifying and dispensing prescribed infusion medications, compounding sterile products in accordance with USP standards, and ensuring accurate dosing and labeling. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing medication orders for clinical appropriateness, monitoring for potential drug interactions, and collaborating with prescribers, nurses, and other care team members to optimize therapy outcomes. The Pharmacist will provide patient and caregiver counseling on medication use, storage, potential side effects, and adherence, while maintaining thorough documentation in the pharmacy and clinical systems. Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Pharmacist license in the state of Alaska; Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree from an accredited school of pharmacy.
- Experience in sterile compounding and infusion therapy, including familiarity with USP 797/800 standards and aseptic techniques.
- Strong clinical knowledge in pharmacotherapy for acute and chronic conditions, with the ability to interpret lab values, adjust dosing, and assess therapy effectiveness.
- Effective communication and counseling skills for working with patients, caregivers, prescribers, and nursing staff in a multidisciplinary environment.
- High attention to detail, sound clinical judgment, and commitment to medication safety and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency with pharmacy management systems, electronic health records, and standard office software; ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, work in a fast-paced on-site clinical setting, and maintain professional conduct under pressure.
- Previous experience in home infusion, specialty pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, or ambulatory infusion services is preferred.
- Board certification or advanced training in relevant clinical areas (e.g., BCPS) is a plus.
