** No visa sponsorship available — H1B and C2C candidates not eligible **OverviewOur client, a US Fortune 250 company and a global medical technology corporation serving customers in Clinical Labs, Health care research & Pharmaceutical industry, seeks an accomplished R&D Engineer (Medical Device)Position: R&D Engineer (Medical Device)Location: San Diego, CA 92121Contract Duration: 6 months with possible extensionPay Rate: $50–$60/hr (W2, depending on experience)Relocation/ Interview Expenses: NOJob DescriptionThe R&D Engineer supports the development and lifecycle management of medical device products within the Infusion Preparation and Delivery (IPD) platform. This role participates in product design, development, verification, validation, and transfer activities in accordance with medical device design control processes and engineering best practices.The position requires strong technical aptitude, cross-functional collaboration, and hands-on work in the lab to drive design activities, test method development, and design verification efforts. Flexible work arrangements allow for periodic remote collaboration; however, the role is primarily onsite.Key ResponsibilitiesDrive R&D deliverables through the medical device design control process, supporting intravenous infusion sets and connection devices.Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Sales, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Medical Affairs, etc.) to plan, develop, modify, implement, and support IPD products.Engineer robust products using strong engineering fundamentals and DFSS principles.Develop technical plans, including design inputs, feasibility studies (analytical & empirical), product configuration refinement, and verification/validation strategies.Develop and execute test methods, test protocols, and test reports.Conduct design verification testing to ensure design outputs meet design input requirements.Concurrently support design transfer activities with Manufacturing and Operations.Prepare and maintain design documentation aligned with global regulatory filing requirements.Utilize CAD tools (SolidWorks or equivalent) to support design development.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Materials Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering.3 years, in relevant engineering roles.Demonstrated critical thinking and ability to work with moderate guidance.Proficiency with SolidWorks or equivalent CAD tools.Experience managing multiple projects of varying scope simultaneously.Strong communication and leadership skills with ability to work independently or collaboratively across diverse functional teams.Hands-on experience with medical device design control processes and creating/ maintaining design control documentation.Recruiter Contact InfoSajag Bhardwajsajag.bhardwaj@ameritconsulting.comwww.ameritconsulting.comI'd love to talk to you if you think this position is right up your alley, and assure prompt communication, whichever direction.
