What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laser Operator (Weekend Shift) position at Ameristar Manufacturing?

Job Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to set-up and operate the Amada laser cutting machine. This individual will be performing machine set-up including program retrieval, ensuring proper gases and nozzles, and correct material selection. This position is a weekend shift, Friday through Sunday, 12 hours shifts, paid for 40.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ability to diagnose machine problems while performing jobs, making modifications as needed.
- Performs laser cutting operations efficiently and effectively per specifications.
- Performs detailed checks to the quality of product machined and notify supervisor of process issues.
- Operates and navigates in a Windows-based computer environment.
- Ability to program nesting software to maximize product/material usage.
- Adheres to safety procedures and regulations, including proper maintenance and housekeeping of laser area.
- Performs other related duties as required.

Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in a related field preferred.
- Prior knowledge of operation of laser equipment required.
- Ability to understand and follow customer prints and possess good math skills.

- Possess excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
