What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assembly Lead position at Ameristar Manufacturing?

Position Summary:
- Train new employees on job processing and safe operation of production
- Conduct the work activity and workload at the direction of the production control or plant manager
- Organize and maintain assembly
Essential Functions:
- Maintains quality rating above 98%, on time shipping above 90%.
- Provide accurate part count
- Assemble products and part lists per customer need
- Move completed jobs to next step on job routing or shipping
- Selecting correct tooling for jobs
- Selection of correct PEM nuts, studs, … per blueprint.
- Setting up and operating PEM-Setter machines
- Accurately count and palletize product
- Support actions to improve measured Quality Objectives in On Time Delivery, % Lot Yield, % Parts
- Maintain your responsibilities as identified in the Quality Management System
- Regular attendance is
- Stop process of non-conforming exits, notify Plant Manager
- Aid sales in estimating new
- Ensure current jobs are estimated
- Accurately use plant ERP
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Knowledge of blueprint reading and good math skills
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to interact effectively with management, co-workers and Good math skills. Understand and follow job routing instructions. Knowledge of fixtures, tools, and gauges to measure tolerances and mechanical skills in troubleshooting equipment to produce parts to print. Unreadable or print issues take to Q.C
Physical Demands;
- Physical activities will include repetitive turning, bending, reaching, and handling material or parts to and from lift cart and to and from mechanical Job may include standing or sitting in one position while operating equipment for up to 2-3 hours. Job may include operating handheld sanders, grinders, and other small hand and power tools. Exposure to rough metal edges; cuts, scrapes and metallic slivers are common.
- Lifting material to insert into equipment – weight of material may exceed 75 Use legs to exert force to push lift cart from operation to operation.
- Vision requirements – Good vision Job will at times require close vision ability to inspect parts for defects.
Work Environment;
- Exposure to moderately loud and loud Hearing protection highly recommended. Eye protection is required while in the shop. Work closely with moving mechanical equipment and parts. Proper protective footwear highly recommended.
