Duties
- Greet customers warmly and provide expert advice on gardening, floral design, lawn care, and landscape maintenance products
- Assist customers in selecting plants, tools, fertilizers, and outdoor décor to meet their specific needs
- Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and visual merchandising of the garden center to create an inviting shopping environment
- Stock shelves efficiently, manage inventory levels, and process incoming shipments accurately
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems for sales transactions including cash handling and retail math calculations
- Support with floral arrangements or floral design projects as needed to enhance customer offerings
Requirements
- Passion for gardening, horticulture, landscaping, or outdoor living products
- Strong communication skills to assist and educate customers effectively
- Experience with retail sales, cashiering, or POS systems is preferred
- Knowledge of lawn care, landscape maintenance, or floral design is a plus
- Ability to handle stocking duties efficiently while maintaining organizational skills
- Multilingual abilities are a nice-to-have to serve a diverse customer base
- Basic understanding of retail math for transactions and inventory management
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in merchandising and stock management
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads as needed
