Financial Advisor Associate
Ascendant Wealth Management Group (AWMG) | West Des Moines, IA | Full-time, in-office
Build a career in financial planning without starting from scratch. As a Financial Advisor Associate, you will learn alongside experienced advisors, support real client relationships, and develop the skills and licenses needed to grow into an advisor role. You will join an established, collaborative wealth management team rather than a cold-calling sales environment.
AWMG helps clients make confident financial decisions through comprehensive planning, investment management, retirement planning, risk management, and wealth strategies.
What You’ll Do
· Support advisors with client meeting preparation, reviews, presentations, and follow-up.
· Gather, organize, and maintain client information in CRM and financial planning systems.
· Assist with client onboarding, service requests, and timely completion of action items.
· Help prepare financial planning analyses and recommendations under supervision.
· Learn AWMG’s planning approach, technology, and client experience through structured training and mentorship.
· Collaborate with advisors and operations teammates on client service, firm initiatives, and events.
What You Bring
· Interest in building a long-term career in financial planning and wealth management.
· Strong communication, relationship-building, organization, and attention to detail.
· A proactive, accountable approach and commitment to high ethical standards.
· Ability to learn new systems and financial concepts in a team-oriented environment.
· Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
· Internship or professional experience in financial services, banking, insurance, sales, client service, or business development is a plus, but not required.
Licensing
The SIE, Series 7, Series 66, and Life & Health licenses are required for the role. Candidates who do not currently hold these licenses are encouraged to apply. AWMG provides support for qualified candidates pursuing required licenses and registrations.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
