Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Financial Advisor or Advisor Trainee to join our team. This role is designed to support senior advisors in delivering comprehensive financial planning services while developing the skills necessary to manage client relationships independently. The ideal candidate is client-focused, eager to learn, and committed to building a career in financial advising. Candidates who are not yet licensed will have the opportunity to pursue required licensing and professional development with firm support.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior advisors with the development and implementation of comprehensive financial plans
- Analyze client financial data, including investments, retirement plans, insurance coverage, and cash flow
- Prepare client presentations, reports, and recommendations
- Participate in client meetings and follow up on action items
- Support onboarding of new clients, including account paperwork and compliance requirements
- Maintain accurate and organized client records in accordance with regulatory standards
- Conduct research on financial products, market trends, and planning strategies
- Ensure all activities align with fiduciary standards and firm policies
Qualifications
Education / Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Financial Planning, Economics, or a related field is preferred, but not required
- Prior experience in financial services, banking, insurance, sales, or a related field is a plus
Licensing
- Current FINRA licenses (e.g., Series 7 and Series 66) are preferred but not required
- Willingness to obtain required licenses within a specified timeframe with firm support
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong understanding of financial planning concepts (retirement, insurance, investments, tax considerations) or strong willingness to learn
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn financial planning tools
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- CFP® designation or progress toward certification
- Experience working with client-facing financial planning software
- Prior experience supporting a financial advisor or advisory team
