Job Description
Provide end to end leadership for the strategy, delivery, and operational support of enterprise employee technology solutions. This role will drive the full lifecycle of applications and services — from strategy and roadmap through solution delivery, production operations, incident management, and continuous improvement — ensuring solutions are reliable, secure, cost effective, and aligned with business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy, Roadmap & Business Alignment
Partner with business leaders to translate business strategy and priorities into technology strategy, operating plans, and multi‑year delivery roadmaps
Balance delivery investments and operational sustainability, incorporating cost, risk, asset health, security, and architectural alignment
Provide cost, feasibility, and value trade‑off analysis to support prioritization and funding decisions
Technology Delivery
Lead delivery of technology solutions and enhancements, ensuring commitments for scope, schedule, cost, quality, and risk are met
Oversee release planning, change management, and deployment activities to minimize business disruption
Ensure solutions meet architectural standards, SDLC requirements, and regulatory expectations
Coordinate across multiple concurrent initiatives and resolve delivery risks and dependencies
Production Support & Operational Excellence
Own production support outcomes for assigned applications and services, including availability, performance, incident management, and remediation
Lead response to major and critical incidents, ensuring timely service restoration, executive communication, root‑cause analysis, and permanent fixes
Establish and mature operational processes, service metrics, and continuous improvement plans aligned to ITIL and operational best practices
Drive proactive identification of recurring issues, service gaps, and improvement opportunities
Vendor, Partner & SLA Management
Manage strategic vendor and partner relationships across delivery and operations
Establish, monitor, and enforce service level agreements (SLAs) and delivery expectations
Ensure vendor resources follow Ameriprise standards, methodologies, and quality requirements
Partner with procurement to manage contracts, performance, and cost effectiveness
Financial & Resource Management
Own budget and financial planning for delivery initiatives and production services, including vendor contracts
Optimize resource strategies (internal vs. vendor, on‑shore/off‑shore) to balance speed, quality, cost, and resilience
Forecast and manage spend across delivery and run activities with transparency and accountability
People Leadership & Organizational Effectiveness
Lead and develop an organization spanning delivery and production support functions
Build capabilities across engineering, operations, and service management disciplines
Drive performance management, talent development, succession planning, and engagement
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Governance, Risk & Standards
Champion adoption of enterprise standards, ITIL practices, SDLC, and operational controls
Ensure compliance with security, risk, audit, and regulatory requirements
Translate technical risks into clear business impacts and mitigation options for senior leaders
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree (4-years) in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or related field; or equivalent work experience
7-10 years experience of increasing responsibility in the delivery and operations of technology products/services
3-5 years of leadership experience, including demonstrated success in leading technical teams and executing technical projects within a quality management framework
2-3 years of experience in successfully managing budgets (departmental and/or project)
Highly effective verbal and written communication skills with ability to deliver technical information to non-technical audiences
Base Pay Salary
The estimated base salary for this role is $131,100 - $180,000 a year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role. We also have a competitive and comprehensive benefits program that supports all aspects of your health and well-being, including but not limited to vacation time, sick time, 401(k), and health, dental and life insurances.
