Associate Financial Advisor
Location: Minnetonka, MN (in-office and on-site)
Our practice operates primarily in‑office which supports our team’s goals of collaboration, high level of client service, and has allowed for the growth of our team for decades. Due to the size and support available within our team, we also offer the flexibility for occasional remote work when appropriate.
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: $100,000 per year
Education & Licensing:
- Bachelor’s Degree (required)
- 5 years of related financial services experience
- Must have or be able to obtain:
- Series 7
- Series 66
- State life, accident & health insurance licenses
ABOUT THIS ROLE
Join a growing, client‑focused financial planning practice as an Associate Financial Advisor. In this role, you will have the opportunity to partner with an independent Ameriprise Financial franchise owner to work alongside clients to guide them to achieve their financial goals and build long-term relationships. You will receive hands-on mentorship, guidance in building your client base, and opportunities to grow in your advisory role with our existing and new clients.
We are seeking someone who brings strong business development drive, a passion for financial planning, and a commitment to exceptional client care. This position requires adherence to high ethical standards along with all of the regulatory and compliance requirement of Ameriprise Financial and the financial services industry.
Responsibilities and time allocation may change over time to meet the needs of the practice and can include other duties as assigned by the advisor.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Financial Planning & Advice Support
- Identify clients to engage in financial planning
- Prepare financial plans, analyses, and meeting materials
- Gather and enter client data into financial planning systems
- Analyze each client situation and deliver appropriate recommendations
- Conduct and participate in client meetings to deliver recommendations and advice
- Answer client questions and help ensure clients stay on track with recommendations
Client Service & Practice Management
- Collaborate with our team to improve processes and workflows for increased efficiency
- Provide feedback, technical support, and direction to team members as needed
- Maintain client file requirements, including records and CRM systems
- Manage ongoing client communication via phone, email, and written correspondence
Marketing & Client Acquisition
- Develop and execute an annual marketing plan to support client acquisition goals
- Drive new client growth through referrals, networking, and natural markets
- Support online marketing efforts including website updates and social media
Portfolio Support
- Assess client goals, risk tolerance, and time horizon
- Recommend investment programs and portfolio strategies based on client needs
- Prepare planning deliverables
- Execute investment proposals transactions to align with client portfolios
- Monitor economic and market trends to support strategic recommendations
