Quality Assurance Supervisor
Summary of Position:
This position is responsible for supervising all aspects over Food Safety and Quality Assurance at Ameripack Foods. You will ensure that the business meets and exceeds all required quality & food safety laws, regulations, and corporate policies, help develop and maintain a company's quality standards and design, implement, and improve a company's current quality standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Evaluate finished products for quality standards, perform all necessary analysis that are required, according to product specifications.
- Communicate product quality issues.
- Promote food safety culture throughout the plant and ensure adherence to food safety measures
- Provide leadership to cross-functional teams when problem solving issues across functional areas.
- Responsible for Quality Policy development and maintenance.
- Build and maintain a strong QA/FS team by providing coaching and training
- Maintain all processing records related to Food Safety, Quality, and Safety requirements to meet company guidelines and regulatory requirements
- Ensure compliance to customer requirements, quality, company standards, and regulatory and external standards.
- Oversees and monitors any processing projects for the company to ensure quality is not compromised.
- Ensures direction and training for team members.
- Work with other departments to help coordinate efforts for new product roll outs, and other cross departmental projects.
Requirements:
- 5 years with Quality and Food Safety experience
- 5 years in a leadership role
- Experience developing and maintaining company records relating to process workflows
- Knowledge of product LOT traceability
- Comprehensive knowledge of HACCP and GMPs
- HACCP Certified
- Excellent organizational skills including time management, priority setting, problem solving, and analytical skills
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn and utilize job relevant software
- SQF Certified
Education/Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Safety, Regulatory Compliance or a related field or an equivalent work history in those disciplines.
