Claims Specialist

The Claims Specialist is responsible for reviewing, investigating, and processing claims accurately and efficiently in accordance with company policies and guidelines. The role evaluates claim details and documentation, determines liability, and coordinates with internal teams, external partners, and customers to support fair, timely, and effective claim resolution.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

Compensation: $22-$24/hr Based on Experience

Job Duties:

• Collect and analyze required documentation to support accurate and timely claim resolution.
• Assist customers with lost, missing, and damaged freight claims.
• Communicate with transportation carriers, insurers, customers, and other parties to obtain information necessary to investigate and resolve claims.
• Manage customer claims portals, including claim submissions, updates, documentation, and monthly reporting.
• Serve as a liaison between customers, Sales, Customer Service, and carriers regarding claim-related inquiries and resolution.
• Coordinate with external partners, including third-party claims management providers, as needed.
• Respond to incoming calls, emails, and Zendesk inquiries related to claims.
• Adapt to process, system, and business changes while maintaining productivity and service levels.
• Prepare and analyze weekly claims data to identify trends related to carriers, customers, damages, and claim activity.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

• This position requires a High School Diploma, or equivalent.
• Must have 1-2 years of experience in claims resolution.
• Previous experience in transportation or automotive industry knowledge is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and other general office equipment
• Organized thinker with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing. 
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple claims and deadlines.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate issues, evaluate information, and determine appropriate resolutions.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, including the ability to handle difficult or sensitive situations professionally.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, carriers, insurers, and internal teams.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with others.
• Ability to identify trends and use data to support decision-making and process improvement.
• Ability to adapt to changing processes, systems, priorities, and business needs.
