What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Associate – Girl Scouts GCNWI VISTA position at AmeriCorps?
Girl Scouts GCNWI's mission is to serve ALL girls, while building girls of courage, confidence and character. VISTAs will help develop systems and policies that encourage the sustainability of this mission. Girl Scouts GCNWI needs assistance with serving underserved girls and families in the most vulnerable communities in Chicago IL. Girl Scouts GCNWI is more than just cookies! There are specialty education programs, that focus on healthy living, financial literacy (cookie program), and STEAM activities. We need your help! VISTAs will focus on capacity building needs for underserved communities with accomplishing goals by focusing on low-income youth experiencing poverty who live in Chicago. VISTAs will be hosted by Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago Northwest Indiana.
Member Duties : Summer VISTAs will increase recruitment efforts, continue developing a recruitment plans, and focus on retention plans for youth we already have. Summer VISTAs will build capacity by continuing to use tracking systems to track engagement, update organizational assessment tools as needed, collecting activity logs; attendance logs, and ensure the completion of pre/post surveys.
