What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Associate - Corporate Volunteer VISTA position at AmeriCorps?
The Summer Associate - Corporate Volunteer VISTA will expand The Salvation Army’s volunteer capacity by recruiting individuals, groups, and corporate partners while strengthening the organization’s ability to host volunteers year-round. Working alongside Development Staff, you will cultivate meaningful connections that directly benefit the families and communities we serve. Every volunteer day secured has the potential to grow into a long-term partnership. This position is ideal for those interested in volunteer engagement, corporate outreach, community building, and nonprofit work. The Salvation Army is a globally recognized organization, operating in over 130 countries and every U.S. zip code. In the DC Metro Area, we serve approximately 70,000 people annually through programs including housing for young mothers, meal services, youth and music programs, substance use treatment, and rent/utility assistance.

Member Duties : -1- Research groups that volunteer regularly, offer Volunteer Time Off or matching grants for employee volunteer time to build capacity of potential volunteer pool -2- Visit and assess possible volunteer offerings at local Salvation Army corps and program locations, keeping in mind the criteria different groups have for their programs. Create plan for increased volunteer activities -3- Prepare plans for Fall and Winter volunteering -4- Assist in securing in-kind donations for events associated with volunteering
Program Benefits : Choice of Education Award or End of Service Stipend , Training , Living Allowance , $125 Metro reimbursement .
