The City of Austin AmeriCorps VISTA Program works with City departments and local nonprofits to build capacity, in order to provide resources and services to the Austin neighborhoods and communities that may otherwise be left behind by Austin's historic disparities and future growth. The AmeriCorps members serving with the City of Austin AmeriCorps VISTA Program work in such diverse fields as education, health, legal services, and housing to cover the myriad ways poverty affects these neighborhoods and communities.
Member Duties : Support the coordination and delivery of AAYHF’s six-week Urban University summer program in addition to assessing and improving other summer/expanded learning, and early childhood programming. Assess opportunities for partnership between AAYHF, Manor ISD, the City of Manor, the City of Austin, Travis County, and other area partners to address an array of whole-child needs.
