What are the responsibilities and job description for the HandsOn VISTA- Welcome to America Project- Resources position at AmeriCorps?
Join The Welcome to America Project (WTAP) and help strengthen the systems that connect newly arrived refugees with essential resources as they establish their lives in Arizona. Refugees may face economic hardship and barriers to accessing household goods, community resources, and other supports needed to achieve stability and work toward self-sufficiency. WTAP helps address these gaps, and sustainable organizational systems are essential to expanding its capacity to serve the community. The VISTA member will build organizational capacity by developing, testing, documenting, and refining standard operating procedures and tools for warehouse inventory management, donation intake and tracking, donor acknowledgment and recordkeeping, volunteer coordination, and community partnerships. The member will assess existing processes, identify opportunities for improvement, create practical implementation guides, and document procedures that staff can maintain after the service year. The member will also develop systems to strengthen connections with community partners and improve the organization's ability to coordinate and track donated resources. Rather than performing routine warehouse operations, processing donations as an ongoing responsibility, or facilitating regular volunteer activities, the VISTA member will focus on creating sustainable systems and resources that staff can use to manage these activities more effectively. These capacity-building efforts will help WTAP use resources efficiently, strengthen community partnerships, and improve its ability to connect newly arrived refugees with essential goods and services that support stability and long-term self-sufficiency. Experience with Google Workspace, community engagement, or refugee communities is helpful but not required. Applicants who speak English and languages such as Dari, Pashto, Arabic, Swahili, Rohingya, Spanish, Somali, or Kinyarwanda are encouraged to apply.
