What are the responsibilities and job description for the DITR CROWNS College & Career Coordinator VISTA position at AmeriCorps?
As Diamond in The Rough seeks to prepare girls for college and careers beyond high school, in and through the CROWNS College & Career Program which provides guidance and students and families through monthly workshops, guest speakers, career & educational field trips, career exploration opportunities, and college preparation. The CROWNS College and Career Coordinator will work to build up partnerships and/or relationships with colleges and universities to ensure girls and families are clear on admissions requirements, financial aid, changing and/or emerging standardized tests requirements, curriculum readiness. Additionally, this member will seek resources and opportunities to expose DITR girls to career opportunities, especially in STEAM-related fields and other career areas that currently have limited representation of women of color. The program benefits for the VISTA include the opportunity to build professional skills, expand their personal network and gain training and development.
