The Attendance Interventionist VISTA reduces chronic absenteeism and improves the average daily attendance rate among high poverty, at-risk student populations.

Member Duties : As the Camden Promise Neighborhood Attendance Interventionist VISTA, you will 1) Research local resources that provide supports to families who are experiencing obstacles that prevent their child from attending school regularly; 2) Ensure the effective and efficient use of resources through data accuracy and collaboration with school partners; 3) Create a data driven action plan for partners and schools to implement in order to increase daily student attendance and reduce chronic absenteeism; 4) Assist in the planning and coordination of incentives and events that aim to encourage students to come to school on a regular basis. Your service will help strengthen family-school communications, increase collaboration between district and school-based partners, and develop strategies based on best practices to reduce chronic absenteeism with the elementary, middle, and high schools. Pre-service drug screenings and criminal background checks are required.
