What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scholar Success Coordinator - Richmond Promise position at AmeriCorps and Careers?
Launched in January 2016, the Richmond Promise is a community-wide college college success initiative to build a college graduating culture in Richmond, CA. The Richmond Promise is a 501(c)3 charitable organization with institutional partnerships with the City of Richmond, WCCUSD, Contra Costa College, University of California and California State University systems. Mission: We see a day when all children in Richmond have access to high quality education, excel from high school to higher education, attain a postsecondary degree or certification, thrive in the field of their choice, and become a leader of positive change in their community and the world. Goals: Increase the number of students, particularly who are low-income and first in their family to go to college, who: 1. Are exposed to college resources, role models, and experiences throughout K-16 2. Successfully transition to an accredited university/college directly from high school 3. Successfully transfer from community college to 4-year university 4. Complete an associates degree, bachelor degree, or career technical education. This will include development and support of college transition programming, including College Success Workshops, developing a method of evaluating students’ needs and level of support needed (i.e. college success rubric), and the scaling of a of community-wide digital advising/mentoring initiative for Richmond Promise students.
