What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Engagement and Development VISTA position at AmeriCorps and Careers?
This project will disrupt poverty by expanding the reach of the I Have a Dream Foundation–Dallas (IHDF) through strengthened partnerships and increased visibility within the community. By enhancing the resources and services available to Dream Scholars and their families, the project will advance IHDF’s community engagement strategies and extend program services to a broader population. This community capacity-building effort will reinforce IHDF’s programming, ensuring that Dream Scholars and their families have the critical support and resources needed to succeed both academically and personally.
Member Duties : The VISTA member will establish a donor database, documenting policies and processes for donor tracking and engagement. These activities include researching and assessing the current donor tracking systems, collecting, organizing, and analyzing the data related to students, families, donors, and partners. Documenting and refining the processes for maintaining accurate records related to donors, program activities, and student outcomes. The member will also expand the community outreach efforts by coordinating community engagement initiatives. These activities include identifying at least ten organizations willing to partner with IHDF. Creating templates for materials and policies that aid in building relationships, developing a tracking mechanism of organizations that are providing services, and identifying and coordinating participation in community events and activities.
