Americom Technologies LLC is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team in our OSP Department. The OSP Department is responsible for underground infrastructure placing conduit, fiber, and copper to support telecommunications, data networks, and fire mitigation.

JOB SUMMARY
As a Vac Truck Operator, you are responsible for running, maintenance, and overall knowledge of the Vac Truck. Will be working in and around underground utility and will be required to understand and determine utility depth.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operation of equipment in both standard and high-risk areas, such as live utilities.
- Knowledge of utility depths and placement.
- Must perform pre and post trip DVIR on vehicle and turn in any issues to the shop for repair.
- Able to read blueprints.
- Follow direction, written or verbal, from supervisors.
- Basic math
- Operate and care for construction equipment and materials.
- Assist other skilled labor when necessary.
- Prep for construction sites as requested, load or unload construction materials.
- Perform site clean-up.
- Operate various hand tools and power tools.
- Perform a variety of physical labor activities.
- Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, and compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, and rakes.
- Pressure washing job-specific tasks, clean up, equipment, vehicles.
- Raking and spreading materials.
- Unloading/loading materials, equipment, and tools.
- Inspections (random and scheduled) for day/night jobsite and building security at job sites, yards, storage areas, offices, fabrication shops, mechanic shops and other work locations.
- Parts/materials/tools/equipment delivery and/or pickup – assisted lifting, no load/unload.
- Utility damage prevention: observations, ticket verification/update, locate requests, locate meets.
- Read and understand equipment operator’s manual and equipment technology (e.g. GPS or other grade control systems).
- Vehicle and equipment inspections, compliance checks and recordkeeping.
- Vehicle and equipment preventative/scheduled maintenance.
QUALIFICATIONS
- General knowledge of construction practices and familiarity with equipment.
- Familiarity with Blue Stakes and the identification of marked utilities.
- Organization of material and other resources as needed.
- Ability to work long hours.
- Excellent communication skills
- Class A CDL
- Must be customer oriented: ability to take care of the customer while following company procedures.
CERTIFICATIONS (PREFERRED)
- OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Outdoor work in varied weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, etc.)
- Exposure to noise, heavy equipment, and construction environments
- Travel between multiple job sites as required.
- Able to lift up to 80 lbs.
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Climb ladders, enter trenches, vaults, manholes, and confined spaces.
