Project Estimator

Americo Builders is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate project cost estimates, analyzing bid documents, and collaborating with project teams to ensure successful project execution. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to large-scale construction projects, utilizing your expertise in cost control, pricing, and project management to deliver competitive bids and support the company's growth. Responsibilities

• Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents using tools such as Bluebeam.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for various construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Utilize HeavyBid or similar estimating software to develop accurate bids.
• Conduct market research to determine current pricing for materials and labor.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to refine project scope and ensure estimates align with project objectives.
• Assist in negotiation of contracts and subcontractor agreements to optimize project costs.
• Monitor project budgets throughout the construction process to ensure cost control and profitability.
• Analyze potential risks and develop contingency plans as needed.
• Maintain organized records of all estimating documentation for future reference and audits.

Skills

• Proficiency in construction estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, site management, and contract administration.
• Excellent negotiation skills with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Ability to analyze complex bid documents and develop accurate pricing strategies.
• Experience in construction site operations and understanding of construction management principles.
• Skilled in cost control techniques and budget management throughout project lifecycle.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with diverse teams including project managers, clients, and vendors.
• Knowledge of contracts, project management practices, and risk assessment within the construction industry.
