Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of patient rooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies
- Handle laundry duties including washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens and uniforms with care and efficiency
- Follow strict safety protocols for chemical agent handling, ensuring proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals in compliance with OSHA standards
- Conduct floor care activities such as sweeping, mopping, buffing, and carpet cleaning to maintain a spotless environment
- Utilize janitorial equipment safely and effectively to complete sanitation tasks while adhering to environmental services best practices
- Assist with heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely during supply restocking or waste removal processes
- Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities, sanitation procedures, and chemical usage to support healthcare infection prevention and control efforts
Qualifications
- Prior experience in healthcare facilities housekeeping, custodial work, or commercial cleaning is highly preferred
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to chemical handling, manual handling, and safe lifting practices
- Familiarity with cleaning techniques for various surfaces including floors, carpets, and fixtures
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently while following environmental services protocols
- Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude towards staff, patients, visitors, and clients
- Experience with sanitation procedures specific to healthcare or hospital environments is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
