Americare Senior Living is seeking a knowledgeable and organized Staff Development Nurse (RN) to lead staff education, training, and infection control initiatives within our skilled nursing community.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for scheduling, staff education, infection prevention, and the planning, organization, and delivery of all facility orientation and in-service education programs. Your work will ensure clinical competency, regulatory compliance, and a culture of continuous learning that supports quality resident care.
Summary
The Staff Development Nurse (RN) is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing staff education, orientation, and infection control programs in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
This role supports clinical excellence by ensuring staff are properly trained, competencies are validated, and education programs align with regulatory requirements and Americare standards.

What You’ll Do
- Plan, organize, and direct all facility orientation and in-service education programs
- Coordinate staff scheduling related to education, orientation, and training
- Lead and support infection prevention and control initiatives in accordance with regulatory guidelines
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive educational programs for nursing and clinical staff
- Ensure education programs meet federal, state, local, and Americare regulatory requirements
- Track and maintain education records, competencies, and required documentation
- Collaborate with nursing leadership to identify learning needs and address performance gaps
- Provide coaching, instruction, and support to staff at all levels
- Promote a culture of continuous learning, safety, and quality improvement
Education
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Maintains current state registration and required continuing education
- Experience in skilled nursing or long-term care preferred
- Demonstrated ability to develop complete and effective educational programs
- Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills
- Proficient computer skills and education planning capability
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with staff, residents, families, and community partners
- Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and accept constructive feedback
- Dedication to staff development, infection prevention, and quality resident care
- Alignment with Americare’s Mission, Vision, Home Town Hospitality, and F.A.M.I.L.Y. Values
- Stand, sit, walk, bend, reach, and change positions as needed
- Lift up to 25 lbs. as required
- Push, pull, and maneuver up to 100 lbs., including resident mobility assistance
- Perform tasks requiring visual acuity, hearing, and verbal communication
- Use electronic health record systems and standard office equipment
