Skilled Nursing
As a member of our Maintenance Team, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, functional, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This position supports daily operations by performing routine maintenance, preventative care, and grounds upkeep while ensuring compliance with state, federal, ASI, OSHA, and safety regulations.

This position operates in a Skilled Nursing environment and includes frequent interaction with residents, families, staff, vendors, and leadership. The role requires teamwork, communication, and attention to safety and regulatory standards.

Your Role as a Maintenance Team Member
Skilled Nursing
As a member of our Maintenance Team, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, functional, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This position supports daily operations by performing routine maintenance, preventative care, and grounds upkeep while ensuring compliance with state, federal, ASI, OSHA, and safety regulations.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain the nursing facility, surrounding buildings, and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition
- Operate and maintain furnaces, air conditioners, boilers, and water systems to provide heat, cooling, and hot water
- Perform routine and minor maintenance including painting, plumbing, electrical work, wiring, and general repairs
- Replace air-conditioner filters and complete monthly and preventative maintenance checklists
- Maintain accurate equipment records, including preventative maintenance logs, routine testing, and lock-out/tag-out documentation using the TELLS application
- Assist with disaster preparedness, including fire drills and emergency readiness activities
- Monitor and maintain emergency equipment, including emergency lighting, batteries, fire alarms, fire doors, sprinkler systems, exit doors, and fire extinguishers
- Ensure work areas are clean, secure, and locked to prevent resident or staff injury
- Coordinate and/or perform grounds maintenance, including snow and debris removal, lawn mowing, trimming shrubs, and flower care
- Post vacancy signage and assist with showing empty rooms to prospective residents or families as needed
- Communicate repairs and maintenance needs clearly with residents, staff, leadership, and vendors
- Notify management of major repair or replacement needs related to lighting, heating, ventilation, or building systems
- Work collaboratively with other departments as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Stand, sit, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and change positions frequently
- Lift up to 50 lbs. and push or pull equipment as needed
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Adhere to OSHA, HIPAA, and facility safety policies
- Properly label, store, and handle chemicals in accordance with MSDS/SDS guidelines
- Monitor eyewash stations and ensure chemical safety compliance
- Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
- Use wet floor signs and other safety barriers as needed
- Report work-related injuries within 12 hours and complete required documentation
- Participate in company drug testing procedures

Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors, and co-workers
- Ability to follow supervisor instructions in a safe and efficient manner
- Maintenance or facilities experience preferred but not required
- None required
