Job Summary:
The Administrator ensures quality and safe delivery of home health care services; coordinates services that reflect the Agency's philosophy and standards of care; plans, develops, implements and evaluates Agency services, programs and activities and responsible for all day-to- day operations of the Agency. Maintains compliance with federal and state laws and regulations as well as Community Health Accreditation Program and/or The Joint Commission standards. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skills.

Job Duties: 

Responsibilities/essential functions: 

The person in this position must be able to perform the following essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

1.    Appointed by the governing body and/or Chief Executive Officer.
2.    Comply with the organizations code of ethics and compliance program.
3.    Detect non-compliance and follow up as appropriate.
4.    Available during designated business hours. Readily available on the premises or by telecommunications.
5.    Remain informed of home health regulations and standards as well as management issues.
6.    Develop and manage the budget for the home health agency, optimizing resource allocation while maintaining quality care.
7.    In collaboration with the Compliance Officer, establish and participate in Quality Assurance Activities, data-based outcomes and QAPI.
8.    Manages the daily operations of the home health agency.
9.    Establish and monitor key performance indicators to track the effectiveness of nursing and other clinical services and identify areas for improvement.
10.    Serves as or appoints the alternate Director of Nursing in the absence of the Director of Nursing.
11.    Directs clinical staff in performance the of their duties including admissions, discharges, and provision of services to patients.
12.    Responsible for counseling staff members in a constructive manner whenever work and conduct does not meet the performance quality standards of the agency. 
13.    Assures appropriate staff supervision during all operating hours and appoints alternate if needed.
14.    In coordination with human resources, hire and fire employees of the agency.
15.    Assure service satisfaction through client visits and other measures, as appropriate. Investigate and resolve agency complaints related to nursing or other department if required.
16.    Participate in state, local and national organizations, meetings, seminars, workshops and activities relating to the home health profession and health care services as requested by supervisor.
17.    All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience: 
Licensed physician, physician assistant, or registered nurse licensed to practice in the state of Florida or an individual having at least 1 year of supervisory or administrative experience in home health care or in a licensed facility.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Valid Florida Driver’s License
Valid/current CPR certification 
Registered Nurse State of Florida with a minimum of two years of experience in home health preferred

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job includes supervisory responsibilities.

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.  Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Mathematical Skills: 
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability: 
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Field visits are required.

This job is an infection control category 1 position. Direct patient care visits is an essential duty of the job.
