Job Description
At Americana Adult Day Center, our part-time Program Aide is responsible for assisting with the day to day delivery of person centered activities and programs for the seniors who attend our day program while meeting and/or exceeding Americana's quality standards. You will work on weekday mornings in a fun and friendly environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist the Activities Coordinator to implement center activities on a daily basis.
- Assist with ambulation and supervision of members.
- Assist participants to and from center transportation.
- Assist with service of meals and snacks including serving, monitoring designated special diets, monitoring food intake and general clean-up.
- Assist with simple data collection and record keeping.
- Provide support and assistance with group activities, health and recreational programs.
- Perform housekeeping duties when needed.
- Provide translation when needed.
- Attend in-service trainings, staff meetings and other meetings as needed
- Work Monday to Friday from 8 am to 12 noon.
Essential Functions:
- Employees in this position sit, stand, bend, stoop, reach overhead, twist, and walk as needed.
- Must possess the ability and personality to conduct activities and provide a positive social environment for Chinese speaking participants.
- Push, pull, lift and carry when needed, e.g. trays, supplies, wheelchairs, other assistive devices
- Employees must be able to assist participants in emergency situations when needed.
Requirements:
- High school education
- Speak and write fluent Mandarin and English
- Possess a pleasant personality and have a genuine interest in working with the elderly who have physical or cognitive challenges.
- Willingness to work as a team member and give support to other team members performing a variety of tasks to provide a beneficial and enjoyable program for the participants.
- Experience working with seniors is a plus.
- Experience running recreational activities is a plus.
- Possess basic computer skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Obtained a negative TB test less than a year ago, or willing to obtain one.
- Have reliable transportation to and from work.
Pay: $18.00 per hour
