Role Summary
We are seeking an Air Export Coordinator to support air export operations at our Atlanta branch. This role is responsible for the end‑to‑end coordination and execution of air export shipments, serving as the operational owner from booking through final departure.
In a lean branch environment, this role encompasses hands‑on operational execution including documentation processing and shipment transactions. The position requires independent decision‑making, effective prioritization, and accountability for executing shipments accurately, compliantly, and on time while maintaining a high level of customer service.
What You’ll Do
Shipment Ownership & Execution
- Manage air export shipments from initiation through completion.
- Perform hands‑on operational tasks including shipment setup, documentation preparation, system entries, and export filings.
- Coordinate airline bookings, routing, and cutoff requirements.
- Track and trace shipments proactively and resolve routine operational issues.
- Apply judgment within company procedures; escalate complex or high‑risk matters as needed.
Customer & Carrier Coordination
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, carriers, and overseas agents.
- Provide proactive shipment updates and manage service expectations.
- Support service recovery for routine shipment disruptions.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with vendors and internal partners.
Compliance, Quality & Support
- Ensure compliance with TSA requirements, export regulations, airline rules, and company SOPs.
- Maintain accurate and complete records in CargoWise or similar systems.
- Support billing accuracy through timely and complete operational handoff.
- Assist with basic rate requests and pricing support as needed.
- Contribute to process improvements by identifying inefficiencies or recurring issues.
What We’re Looking For
- 3–5 years of air export experience in a freight forwarding environment.
- Strong knowledge of air export documentation, compliance, and airline booking processes.
- Experience with CargoWise or similar Transportation Management Systems.
- Dangerous Goods certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Work Schedule & Environment
- Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Occasional extended hours or weekends as operationally required
- On‑site at our Atlanta branch in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment
