American Wellness Pharmacy (AWP) is a licensed 503A compounding pharmacy in Las Vegas, Nevada, specializing in precision medicine, peptide therapy, and individualized patient wellness. We operate under USP <795>, <797>, and <800> standards and hold ourselves to a higher bar than a typical retail pharmacy.

Our team is small, close-knit, and serious about what we do. Every person here plays a direct role in patient outcomes. We are looking for a technician who shows up, pays attention to detail, and wants to grow in a professional pharmacy environment.

Role Overview

The technician supports all front-end pharmacy operations under pharmacist supervision. Core focus is prescription processing, patient communication, order fulfillment, operating the POS, shipping, and inventory. With completed training, the role expands into cleanroom support for sterile and nonsterile compounding. Compounding experience is a plus but not required — AWP will train the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Prescription Processing: Receive, review, and enter new/refill prescriptions into PioneerRx; verify all required fields; maintain accurate patient profiles; process changes, transfers, and prior auth requests.
• Patient & Provider Communications: Handle inbound calls from patients and prescribers; conduct intake calls; provide order/shipping updates; escalate clinical questions to the pharmacist.
• Order Fulfillment: Pull, label, and package completed orders; verify all label details before application; prepare cold-chain and controlled shipments; perform final completeness checks.
• Shipping & Logistics: Process outgoing shipments, print and attach labels, log tracking numbers, coordinate same-day/next-day deliveries, and manage shipping supply inventory.
• Inventory: Receive and verify incoming orders against POs; stock using FIFO rotation across refrigerated, ambient, and hazardous drug storage; flag low inventory and discrepancies.
• Cleanroom Support (post-training): Stage compounding supplies, assist with anteroom maintenance, follow garbing and hygiene protocols, handle hazardous drugs per USP <800> and AWP SOPs.
• Compliance: Complete all logs and records accurately; follow all AWP SOPs without exception; maintain active NV CPhT registration; report errors and near misses immediately.

Requirements

• Active Nevada Pharmacy Technician Registration (good standing)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills
• Professional phone and in-person communication
• Reliable, punctual, able to work independently once trained

Preferred

• Experience in compounding, specialty, or independent pharmacy
• PioneerRx or similar pharmacy software familiarity
• PTCB or ExCPT national certification
• Sterile/non-sterile compounding experience under USP standards
• Bilingual English/Spanish
• Shipping logistics experience

Work Environment

Regulated pharmacy setting; standing for extended periods, repetitive hand movements, and fine detail work throughout the shift. Exposure to pharmaceutical compounds, including hazardous drugs (PPE provided). Must lift up to 25 lbs.
