American Welding & Gas, Inc., (AWG) has an exciting opportunity for a Sales Manager based in Helena, MT to lead our sales growth in Montana, Wyoming, and future growth in surrounding states.

 

AWG is one of the largest independent packaged gas companies in the U.S., with 82 branch locations and 18 gas fill plants stretching from Montana to Florida. Position Summary:

This management level position will be responsible for coordinating sales efforts to ensure effective implementation of sales, product, and marketing strategies; assist in the development and implementation of training for staff; and increasing Customer awareness of the Company in the marketplace.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Grow region sales and margins through direct sales efforts, branch inside sales, and driver sales strategies.
  • Grow customer awareness through frequent social media marketing efforts.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key decision makers at key AWG customers.
  • Manage the efforts to sign existing and new customers to multi-year Product Sales Agreements.
  • Develop, implement, and track sales/marketing programs and promotions for all locations within assigned territory. Responsible for results of programs and initiatives.
  • Using information from internal financial reviews, identify and correct shortfalls in sales and margin and assist in maintaining acceptable accounts receivable percentages.
  • Provide training and communication to Branch Managers regarding programs to improve competitive position and improve customer service levels. 
  • Monitor market conditions.
  • Assess market potential of new and existing store locations.
  • Prepare weekly call reports, sales budgets and reports, sales records, and expense account reports.
  • Comply with all AWG company rules, policies, and procedures as well as Federal, State and Local laws.
  • Establish and track sales goals for all teammates involved in sales strategies. 
  • Identify sales and product training opportunities and assist in identifying associates to attend such training.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3 years of sales leadership experience 
  • Strong knowledge of most social media platforms 
  • Familiarity and proven success with various sales techniques and methods
  • Ability to train staff in techniques to improve sales
  • Ability to think “outside the box” and develop sales plans based on overall sales growth goals.
  • Must have positive demeanor and the ability to motivate others
  • Strong computer, math, and time management skills
 

Travel Required: 60%
