We have a New Opportunity for a Programs Analyst - Accounting at AMVAC who will be responsible for assisting with several aspects of the company’s incentive programs. American Vanguard and its subsidiaries offer various incentives to customers as part of the normal course of business and pay such incentives to customers on a periodic basis, typically at the end of a crop year. In the U.S. agricultural chemicals industry, such payments are known as “Programs” and are a critical part of doing business. The Programs Analyst tracks the incentives, accrues based on approved program rates and provides analysis on a quarterly and annual basis to maintain SOX compliance. Additionally, the Programs Analyst is responsible for assisting the Programs Accounting Manager in maintaining the Company’s accounting records as it relates to programs.
Job Responsibilities:
Prepare customer program payment requests including distributors, retailers and growers
Organize and track all modifications to programs and ensure that such program modifications have been appropriately approved and are properly documented
Maintain the programs' roll-forward schedules and ensure they reconcile to the company’s general ledger
Prepare quarterly program accrual files that detail all outstanding program accruals
Draft the quarterly programs review memos
Attend quarterly program accrual review meetings with CFO, Senior Director FP&A, Programs Accounting Manager
Ensure that internal control procedures about programs are being adhered to and ensure proper documentation of internal controls is being appropriately maintained
Review CSRs (Competitive Situation Response) and PARs (Program Adjustment Request) and ensure they are captured in the roll-forward
Assist the Programs Accounting Manager’s collaboration with the company's third-party service provider(s) to ensure timely processing of program payments
Track status of all outstanding program payment requests and assist with ensuring timely management approval process of all outstanding program payments
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree Required, preferably in Accounting or Finance
Skills & Qualifications:
3+ years in accounting or finance, with a demonstrated track record of career development
Strong Excel skills
Motivated self-starter who is detail oriented
Works well under pressure in an entrepreneurial environment
Must be able to work independently on assigned projects
Flexible, team player with strong communication and organizational skills
Pass the background check
