About the Role
As an Inside Sales Representative, you’ll help customers plan an important life event, their move, while also taking ownership of your sales results. This role is best suited for someone who genuinely likes helping people and has a strong sales instinct.
You’ll talk to customers every day, answer questions, build trust, and guide them toward choosing American Van Lines. At the same time, you’ll be expected to compete for business, follow up consistently, and fight for every deal that makes sense to close.
This is a commission-driven role in a fast-paced environment where effort directly impacts earnings.
What You’ll Do
• Handle inbound and outbound sales calls with potential customers
• Ask the right questions to understand customer needs and concerns
• Build accurate, customized moving quotes
• Follow up consistently and work each lead with the goal of closing
• Balance customer service with sales, help customers while confidently asking for the business
• Address objections and find practical solutions to move deals forward
• Work closely with operations and dispatch to set clear expectations
• Maintain a professional, honest experience from first call through booking
What It Takes to Succeed
• A strong sales mindset, you don’t shy away from asking for the sale
• Desire to earn commission and take ownership of your results
• Ability to stay competitive without losing sight of the customer experience
• Comfort handling objections and negotiating when needed
• Solid phone skills with a natural, conversational approach
• Strong follow-up habits and attention to detail
• Reliability, consistency, and a willingness to work hard every day
• Ability to learn, adapt, and apply coaching
Qualifications
• Minimum 1 year of phone sales experience (required)
• Call center or high-volume sales experience strongly preferred
• Experience earning commission or performance-based pay preferred
• Moving industry experience is a plus, but not required

Salary : $75,000 - $180,000
