What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controls Programmer position at AMERICAN Valve & Hydrant?
POSITION FUNCTION/OVERVIEW: The Control System Programmer writes and amends programs for use in the operation of PLCs and other programmable equipment. This position also covers Maintenance Foreman duties during absences.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Implement programming changes for continuous improvements and upgrades to existing equipment.
- Assist the IS department in the collection of data from process equipment for analysis.
- Attends training for further education in programming and manufacturing technologies.
- Assist in the training of maintenance personnel in programming and knowledge of processes
- Assist on projects with engineering and outside vendors on new equipment by attending meetings and providing insight pertaining to programming.
- Troubleshooting support for controls circuits including ladder logic, motor control, and electrical systems.
- Attend meetings as necessary to provide support to Maintenance Foreman
- Order, stock, and maintain the maintenance repair parts inventory.
- Miscellaneous duties as required by the position.
- Adheres to all plant safety rules and procedures.
