Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable Damage Prevention Specialist to join our team serving multiple locations across Ohio. This position will primarily focus on public gas, sewer, water and electric with opportunities to assist with private utility locating as needed.
The ideal candidate will have experience locating underground utilities, reading utility prints, and working independently in the field. This role involves working outdoors, traveling between job sites, and using modern locating equipment and digital reporting tools.

Duties
- Locate and mark public utilities according to utility prints and field conditions
- Assist with private utility locating, including water, sewer, telecom, and electric lines
- Use electromagnetic locating equipment to trace underground utilities
- Operate off a tablet or phone based work management system for tickets and documentation
- Take clear photos and notes documenting work completed
- Read and interpret utility maps, prints, and field markings
- Communicate effectively with contractors, homeowners, and team members
- Respond to after-hours emergency locate requests when on call
- Maintain equipment and ensure accurate, professional markings
Skills
- Experience locating natural gas utilities is a plus
- Knowledge of utility locating best practices
- Familiarity with electromagnetic (EM) locating equipment
- Experience reading utility prints and maps
- Experience with private utility locating is a plus
- Interest in learning Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) in the future
