Senior Oracle APEX Developer with 6 years of hands-on Oracle APEX and Oracle Database development experience. This role requires expert-level PL/SQL development, strong security-first design principles, and proven experience delivering scalable, secure, modular APEX applications.
Candidates must have hands-on experience implementing SSO with Entra ID (Azure Active Directory) and OCID, as well as strong GitHub/GitOps experience to support modernized development workflows.
This role is 100% onsite in Raleigh, NC, and requires strong client-facing communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of secure, modular Oracle APEX applications.
- Develop complex PL/SQL packages, triggers, procedures, and functions.
- Design and optimize database objects: tables, indexes, materialized views, and constraints.
- Work directly with business analysts and end users in iterative solution design.
- Drive performance tuning, SQL and PL/SQL optimization, and application security hardening.
- Integrate APEX with REST APIs, JSON/XML, and external systems.
- Establish standards for modularity, reuse, documentation, and code reviews.
- Support OCI (ExaCC) migration, upgrades, and feature rollout.
- Serve as escalation point for complex production issues, particularly authentication/security.
- Support GitHub/GitOps workflows and secure CI/CD deployment processes.
- Provide knowledge transfer and serve as SME to team members.
- Implement and maintain SSO with Entra ID (Azure AD) and OCID.
Required Qualifications
- 6 years of enterprise Oracle APEX development experience.
- Expert SQL & PL/SQL, with deep understanding of secure coding and performance.
- Strong Oracle Database experience (12c/19c ).
- Advanced APEX skills: Interactive Grids, dynamic actions, REST-enabled SQL, JS integration.
- Strong experience integrating REST services, JSON, AJAX, JavaScript.
- Proven SSO implementation experience (Entra ID/Azure AD).
- Strong experience with GitHub, GitOps, and DevOps automation.
- Excellent communication for client-facing development.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), including ExaCC.
- GitHub / GitOps / CI/CD automation expertise.
- Proven APEX performance tuning.
- Experience with APEX plug-in development.
- Experience with BI Publisher or Oracle Analytics Cloud.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks: CIPA, FERPA, HIPAA.
