Description
American Traveler is hiring a Sonographer with fetal and vascular experience for a 13-week acute care assignment using Cerner EMR.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting with a 3-room ultrasound department
- Studies include general ultrasound, OB/fetal, small parts, and vascular ultrasound (upper and lower venous and arterial extremity Doppler)
- Average of 35 scans per day across a 24-hour period
- EMR: Cerner (Community Works); PACS: Intellirad/Intelliconnect
- Primary equipment includes Siemens S2000 ultrasound machines
- 12-hour day shifts, 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Staff scheduling follows a 2-2-3 rotation between two teams
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday rotation coverage may be required
- No floating to other departments required
- No on-call or standby requirements
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of sonography experience
- Fetal/OB experience required
- Arterial extremity Doppler experience required
- ARDMS certification required
- RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) via ARDMS required
- BLS required
- WV state license required if applicable
- WV CARES compliance required prior to start
- IV insertion skills required
- Must be able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver's license required for consideration
Additional Information
- Performs general ultrasound, OB/fetal imaging, small parts, and vascular ultrasound studies
- Radiologist is on-site until 5:00 PM, then on-call; VRAD covers remote interpretation from 2:00 AM – 6:00 AM
- Imaging Director and Manager are on-site Monday–Friday during daytime hours and available by phone at all other times
- Orientation consists of 5 shifts with a preceptor
- Any color of clean, professional scrubs is acceptable; permanent staff wear Emerald Green (optional for travelers)
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
- Travelers who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before re-applying
- Travelers may not work within the WVU system for longer than one cumulative year without a 2-year break
