Description
American Traveler seeks a Surgical Technologist with orthopedic experience for an acute care hospital OR position.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting in the Orthopedic Surgery OR unit
- Handles 20-25 cases per day including total joints (hip, knee, shoulder), arthroscopies (knee, shoulder, hip, wrist), hand, pediatric, trauma, and fracture cases
- Charge nurse serves as primary circulating nurse with 24/7 house supervisor coverage
- Rarely uses EPIC Optime, primarily relies on printed preference cards for cases
- 10-hour day shifts, 0700-1730, Monday-Friday
- Call rotation required 1-2 weeknights per week with 30-minute response time
- One weekend of call per month, from Friday end of shift through Monday morning
- Holiday call coverage as needed
- Possible floating to other OR service lines including General, Peds, Neuro, or Cardiac, typically as second scrub/retractor holder
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist required
- Orthopedic surgical experience required
- BLS certification (AHA) required
- Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program or military-based ST training required
- Active IL license required if applicable
- Must be able to produce a negative drug screen for all panels

- Unit-specific orientation lasts 1-2 days
