Description
American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with a minimum of 3 years of inpatient surgery and trauma experience for a 13-week OR assignment in Boston, MA.
Details
- Hospital operating room setting serving a broad surgical services department including general, GYN, GU, oral, ENT, bariatrics, ortho, neuro, vascular, thoracic, cardiac, plastics, podiatry, robotics, pediatric, trauma, and spine cases
- Candidates must be competent in at least 5 of the listed surgical services
- AM shift, 10-hour days, 40 hours per week with day/evening rotation
- Shift start times vary based on department needs: 6:30 AM, 9:00 AM, or 11:00 AM
- No weekends and no on-call required
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of inpatient surgery experience required
- Trauma experience required
- NBSTSA CST certification required — no other certification accepted
- BLS certification required
- Active MA state license required if applicable
- Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program required per Massachusetts state law (effective July 1, 2013)
- Competency in at least 5 of the listed surgical specialties required
- A valid, non-expired driver's license is required for consideration
- 2 professional references required — at least one must be from a manager-level or above (not a supervisor), include a performance evaluation, and one must be dated within the last 12 months; the other may be within the past 3 years; references cannot be from another traveler
Additional Information
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are subject to a local pay rate
- Positive attitude, flexibility, and excellent communication skills are expected
- Per MA state law (July 1, 2013), surgical techs must have graduated from an accredited program and hold a current CST by NBSTSA, or meet one of the defined alternative qualifying criteria (e.g., employed as a surgical tech in MA on July 1, 2013, or completed a U.S. military surgical technology training program)
