Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN for a Level I Trauma Center with 3 years of OR experience, strong scrub and circulate skills, and availability for night shifts including on-call hours.
Details
- Main OR setting within a Level I Trauma Center
- Night shift schedule: 3x12s (7pm–7:30am) or 4x10s
- Diverse surgical caseload including ortho trauma and spine, neuro/craniotomy, robotic surgery (Da Vinci Xi, SP), bariatrics (gastric sleeve and bypass), laparoscopic and open GYN and general surgery, and strong trauma cases
- On-call requirement of 8–12 hours per month
- Floating required within skillset; patient ratios vary based on census and acuity
- No block scheduling
- Charting system: Epic
- Local candidates accepted
Requirements
- Active NJ or Compact RN license required
- Minimum 3 years of OR experience required
- BLS required; CNOR preferred
- Ability to both scrub and circulate required; highly preferred for neuro/craniotomy cases
- Robotic surgery experience (Da Vinci Xi, SP) preferred
- Travel experience highly preferred
- Two current professional references required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Must be available to work 2 out of 3 designated holidays
- RTO requests made after an offer will not be accommodated; schedule changes are not permitted once onsite
- Former RWJBH staff (full-time or PRN) must have been separated from the health system for a minimum of 1 year before being eligible for a travel assignment
- Orientation includes non-billable pre-start modules averaging approximately 18 hours for RNs, including Epic training
- Candidates who fail competency exams must wait 6 months before reapplying
- Previous charge experience is preferred but not required
- First-time travelers will be considered, though travel experience is highly preferred
