Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week acute care contract requiring multi-area coverage across Pre-surgery/PACU and OR suites with call rotation including weekends and holidays.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting in an Operating Room department with 4 suites, running 3 concurrently
- RNs rotate coverage across Pre-surgery/PATT, OR, and PACU
- Common case types include General, Ortho, OB/GYN, Urology, Podiatry, and Cardiology (pacemakers, lead revisions, etc.)
- Averages approximately 9 cases per day
- Day shifts with 8-hour shifts starting between 0545 and 0900 and ending between 1345 and 1700
- Call is required and rotated among trained RNs on weekdays, weekends, and holidays
- Must be ready to make incision within 30 minutes for STAT cases
- Schedule is built by the manager (no self-scheduling)
- EMR system is Paragon (facility is transitioning from Cerner to Epic)
Requirements
- Active MI RN license required by start date
- Current BLS certification (AHA) required
- Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience required
- Experience across multiple specialties including General, Ortho, OB/GYN, Urology, Podiatry, and Cardiology required
- Experience in Pre-surgery/PATT and PACU required
- 2 professional references required for consideration: 1 supervisor reference from within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and 1 peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years of relevant specialty experience
Additional Information
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- One week of orientation provided
- Candidates who have previously worked for this health system as permanent staff must have an end date at least 6 months prior to their consideration date; hospital approval is also required
- Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility are considered local and may be subject to a reduced pay rate
