Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN for a 13-week acute care assignment requiring at least 2 years of operating room experience and a WV or compact RN license.
Details
- Operating room unit within an acute care hospital setting, 15 suites handling 55-70 cases per day
- Patient population includes all surgical procedures with same day and overnight stays
- Day shift schedule of 8s or 10s, with hours such as 6-2, 7-3, 8-4, or 9-5
- Occasional midnight shifts may be required to support operational demands
- Rotating weekend requirement including one 8-hour shift (7-3 Sat or Sun) and one 24-hour on-call shift
- 1-2 secondary on-call shifts per schedule (24-hour call from 7A-7A)
- Call response time of 30 minutes required
- Floating required to the OR holding area
- Currently uses Sunrise EMR, transitioning to EPIC
Requirements
- Active WV or compact RN license required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of operating room nursing experience required
- Strong IV skills required
- Surgical care knowledge and robotics experience required
- Preop scrubbing required for RNs
- Unexpired driver's license copy required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide perioperative nursing care in a surgical center/preop environment
- Scrubs provided by the facility
- Unit and department-specific orientation provided for the surgical center/preop area
- Must reside within 50 miles of the facility, no local travelers accepted
- Travelers who previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before reapplying
- Travelers are limited to working within WVU for no longer than one year cumulatively before requiring a 2-year break
