Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Alaska, requiring an active AK RN license and a minimum of 3 years of OR experience.
Details
- Operating Room setting within a regional health consortium in Southeast Alaska
- Handles a wide variety of elective and emergency surgical cases, including abdominal, thoracic, urology, ENT, plastic, orthopedics, vascular, and OB/GYN
- Full-time schedule: four 10-hour shifts, Tuesday through Friday
- After-hours on-call required to staff the OR for nights, holidays, and weekends
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted RN license in the State of Alaska required at the time of consideration
- Minimum 3 years of OR experience required
- Current certifications required: BLS/BCLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN, ADN, or Diploma)
- Flu vaccine required
- Experience in a Critical Access Hospital and/or rural OR setting strongly preferred
- Fingerprint card submission required prior to start — candidates should be prepared to schedule an appointment and mail fingerprint cards within 2–3 days of acceptance
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include scrubbing and/or circulating on a variety of surgical cases while efficiently managing case flow throughout the day
- On-call responsibilities cover after-hours, holiday, and weekend OR staffing needs
- Start date will be no sooner than 6 weeks after fingerprint cards are received and processed
