Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position in Southeast Alaska, requiring an active AK RN license, 3 years of OR experience, and including after-hours call responsibilities.
Details
- Located within a hospital Operating Room setting in Southeast Alaska
- Handles a wide variety of elective and emergency surgical cases including abdominal, thoracic, urology, ENT, plastic, orthopedics, vascular, and OB/GYN
- Roles covered include circulating RN, PACU, and Pre-Op
- Schedule is Tuesday through Friday, 10-hour shifts, plus on-call
- After-hours call required for nights, holidays, and weekends
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted RN license in the State of Alaska required at time of consideration
- Minimum 3 years of OR experience required
- Current certifications required: BLS/BCLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN, Associate Degree, or Diploma in Nursing)
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience in a Critical Access Hospital and/or rural operating room strongly preferred
- Flu vaccine required

- Responsibilities include circulating in the OR, ensuring surgical cases proceed efficiently and on time, and responding to after-hours call for nights, holidays, and weekends
- Fingerprint card processing is required prior to start — candidates should plan to submit fingerprint cards promptly upon acceptance, as the start date will be no earlier than 5 weeks after fingerprint cards are received for processing
