Description
American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Mother Baby unit position requiring a KY or compact RN license and NRP certification, working nights on a 13-week contract.
Details
- Work is performed in a 42-bed private room Mother Baby unit (4A & 4B) in a hospital setting
- Unit team includes specialized nurses, newborn assessment nurses, and lactation consultants focused on postpartum education, support, and discharge planning
- Schedule is three 12-hour night shifts per week (3x12s, 3rd shift)
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky or a compact state currently in hand
- Required certifications: BLS and NRP
- ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Proficiency in medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, and use of medical equipment
- Must provide MM/DD of date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, postpartum care, patient and family education, and facilitating discharge coordination
- Care coordination involves collaboration with interdisciplinary teams including Case Management, lactation consultants, and newborn assessment nurses
- RN is expected to mentor other staff and nursing students and act as a clinical resource and role model
- Participates in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI monitoring
