American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Step Down Unit position requiring at least one year of experience and AHA-issued BLS certification, with ACLS and ICU experience preferred.
Details- Position is based in a hospital Med Specialty Step Down unit
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
- Med/Surg and Step Down (MS/SD) patient population
- 13-week contract
- Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC) required
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- MS/SD experience required; ICU experience preferred
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required; ACLS preferred
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Proficiency in nursing techniques including IV initiation, medication administration, and physiological monitoring
- Basic computer skills required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility may return after a 6-month separation period following a maximum of 26 weeks (one extension) of total contract time
- Compliance with onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, medical requirements) is taken very seriously and must be completed by the designated deadline — start dates will not be adjusted for non-compliance
- Responsibilities include managing an assigned patient group, documenting care, administering medications, monitoring IV infusions and blood products, and coordinating discharge planning
- Collaborates with physicians, support staff, patients, and families to deliver and communicate care plans
