Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Nephrology/Med-Surg night shift position at a Level III trauma center in Farmington, NM, requiring a minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg experience and an active NM or compact RN license.
Details
- Work on a 24-bed Nephrology unit that functions as an extension of the Med/Surg floor
- Patient population includes geriatric and adult patients with diagnoses such as ESRD, peritoneal dialysis, and hemodialysis
- Patient ratios range from 1:4 to 1:6
- Equipment includes VS machines, bladder scanners, lifts, thermal imaging, and IV pumps
- EMR: Cerner
- Night shift: 7P–7:30A (19:00–07:00)
- Must work at least 2 weekend shifts per month
- Floating required on an as-needed basis per facility needs
- No on-call requirements
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active NM or compact RN license required
- BLS certification required (must be AHA-issued)
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience required; 2 years preferred
- ADN or higher required
- Skills checklist score of at least 3.2 overall required
Additional Information
- The facility is a 198-bed Level III trauma center serving the Four Corners region of New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah; due to its location, Trauma Level I and II cases are also flown in
- Observation unit experience is a plus
- Charge nurse experience is preferred but not required
- Nephrology experience is preferred but not required
- Candidates will be required to complete an area-specific competency exam and skills checklist as part of the consideration process
