Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for an ortho unit with MS/telemetry overflow, requiring cardiac drip proficiency and a minimum of 1 year experience.
Details
- Ortho unit with Medical/Surgical and telemetry overflow responsibilities
- Patient ratios of 1:6-7
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 or 4x12 hours, 0700-1930
- Block scheduling may be accommodated
- Must be proficient in cardiac and vasoactive drip titration including cardizem, tridil, and amiodarone
- Requires cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response skills
Requirements
- Active Alabama or Compact RN license required, pending license applications accepted
- Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
- ACLS preferred
- Experience working in large healthcare facilities required
- Proficiency in titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips required
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care across an ortho unit with cardiac drip management for MS/telemetry overflow patients
- Navy blue scrubs required
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Previous permanent staff are ineligible for travel assignments for 10 years following separation
- Travelers must take a 6-month break after completing 2 consecutive contracts before returning, with case-by-case exceptions possible
- Must reside at least 90 miles from the facility, as local candidates will not be accepted
- Pre-start modules required prior to assignment
