Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgery Center (Ambulatory) position requiring ACLS and PALS certifications, with preferred experience in surgical eye cases.
Details
- Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) setting
- Day shift, 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week (40 hours/week)
- Patient population ranges from 6 months to 95 years old, including Phase 1 PACU recovery
- Familiarity with surgical eye cases strongly preferred (cataracts, cornea, retina, glaucoma, plastics)
- Responsibilities include recovering Phase 1 PACU patients, airway management, and managing post-operative pain and nausea
- Strong IV skills required, including administration of IV infusions, blood products, and pupil-dilating drops
Requirements
- Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact/eNLC)
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Current ACLS and PALS certifications from the AHA
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required; 2 years strongly preferred
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Proficiency in patient assessment, IV therapy, airway management, and pain/nausea management
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

- Communicates care plans and discharge instructions to patients and families
- Fast-paced environment requiring strong teamwork and the ability to adapt quickly
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for a new contract (prior travelers may only extend once, for a total of 26 weeks)
- Compliance with onboarding requirements (drug screens, background checks, medical requirements) must begin immediately upon offer acceptance — this facility does not negotiate start dates for non-compliant travelers
