Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position at a Level 3 trauma hospital in Athens, TN, requiring a TN or compact RN license and at least 1 year of experience.
Details
- Work setting is an acute care hospital Med/Surg unit (Medical Surgical Combination 1) at a Level 3 trauma facility
- Patient population consists of adults and geriatric patients; no pediatric cases
- Common diagnoses and treatments include pneumonia, CVA, chest pain, post-surgical care, electrolyte imbalances, and DVT
- Patient ratio is 6:1, with a current max unit census of 18 patients
- Equipment used includes bladder scanners and glucometers
- EMR is Medhost
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Weekend hours are required every other weekend
- No on-call or float requirements
- 13-week contract with 36 hours per week
Requirements
- Active RN license valid in Tennessee (TN state license or compact license) required
- Current AHA BLS certification required prior to start
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience required
- SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- Candidates must reside 60 or more miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
Additional Information
- Critical care thinking skills are preferred
- Scrubs of any color are acceptable; casual wear is not permitted
- Candidates must be checked against the Tennessee Abuse Registry prior to assignment start
- Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
- Candidates who are employed full-time elsewhere are not eligible
- Orientation is held bi-weekly on Mondays
