Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Ortho/Med-Surg unit position in Bowling Green, KY, requiring at least 2 years of experience and an active KY or compact RN license.
Details
- Hospital inpatient setting with an Ortho Surgical unit (30 beds) and a Med-Surg unit (37 beds)
- Typical patient ratio of 6:1
- Patient care technicians (PCTs) and Student Nurse Externs (SNEs) provide tech support; a unit secretary is available during day shift hours
- Some bedside procedures performed by physicians, though less common than in CCU or ED settings
- Documentation is completed using Meditech
- Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 13-week contract
- Full-time schedule requires 4 weekend shifts per 4-week scheduling period (e.g., 3 Saturdays and 1 Sunday)
- Floating required to inpatient units to take patients, as well as task-based floating in CCU and ED
Requirements
- Active KY or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
- Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in Ortho or Med-Surg
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
- Scrub top and scrub bottom required; long-sleeve shirts or scrub jackets permitted underneath — no fleece, hoodies, sweatshirts, sweaters, shoes with holes, denim, or camouflage
