Description
American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Med/Surg position at a critical access hospital in Iowa, working weekend night shifts on a 13-week contract.
Details
- Med/Surg adult unit in a hospital setting
- Weekend night shift schedule: Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM (three 12-hour shifts per week)
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active Iowa RN license or compact license currently in hand
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association required
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Experience preferred but not required — new travelers welcome to apply
- Two recent employment references required for consideration
- Date of birth (DOB) and Social Security Number (SSN) may be required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsible for total patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient needs
- Provides patient and family teaching and directs ancillary staff in alignment with professional nursing standards
- Required immunizations include: MMR (2 doses or positive titer), Varicella (2 doses or positive titer), Polio, Hepatitis B series/titer/declination, TDaP (within 10 years), COVID-19 vaccine, and flu vaccine (required during flu season Oct 1 – Mar 31)
- TB testing required: negative 2-step Mantoux within 1 year of start or QuantiFERON Gold; if positive, chest X-ray results required
- Physical exam within 1 year of start date required
- 10-panel drug screen within 1 month of start date required
- Respiratory fit test within 1 year of start date required (facility can provide if unavailable)
- Criminal background check covering all states of licensure and residence/work history over the past 7 years required
- Iowa Mandatory Reporter Certificates (Child Abuse & Dependent Adult Abuse) required prior to start; can be completed through facility-provided modules if not already certified
- Completion of facility-assigned CareLearning education modules required prior to start date
