Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical-Surgical (Adult) position in Hawaii, requiring a minimum of 2 years of med/surg experience and an active Hawaii RN license by the start of the assignment.
Details
- Hospital-based medical unit with 50 beds serving adult patients (18 and over)
- 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Day shift position scheduled 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation
- Various shift lengths and days are required — flexibility is essential
- Floating may be required to surgical, pediatric, or transitional care units
- EMR: Meditech; additional equipment includes Pyxis, wound vacs, and chest tubes
- 15-week contract
Requirements
- Active Hawaii (HI) RN license required by start of assignment — candidates without one must apply upon offer acceptance
- Minimum 2 years of med/surg or higher level of care experience required
- BLS required; ACLS preferred
Additional Information
- All travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours prior to the start of the assignment; plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start to attend the Employee Health appointment Friday morning
- Department-specific training and orientation is included in the first week
- No holiday RTO requests will be accepted
- Professional nursing attire required; no specific scrub color; closed-toe shoes required
